Commercial Garbage

All City of Rockledge businesses own their own dumpster.  It is each individual business’ responsibility to maintain their dumpster and enclosure.  The only items that should be inside the dumpster enclosure is the dumpster and/or recycling carts if you are a part of the recycling program.

All businesses must keep their dumpster area and enclosure clean and clear of debris.  Any dumpster and/or enclosure that cannot be safely approached and/or emptied will not be picked up.  If a dumpster is blocked by a vehicle or garbage, the City will tag the dumpster with the reason why it was not emptied and will attempt pickup on your next scheduled day.

When disposing of fine natured materials, such as ashes or sawdust, it must be in a plastic bag that is securely closed and placed inside the garbage receptacle.  Dumpster lids are to remain closed at all times.

Warning – unauthorized dumping into commercial dumpsters is illegal; if caught, you can be fined $500 or placed in jail for 60 days.  Simply call if you need a special pickup.  If you are having an issue with illegal dumping, please contact the Sanitation Division at 321.221.7540 ext. 211, and we can give you a sticker to put on your dumpster stating this information.
