Honor Guard

The Honor Guard Unit was established by the Chief of Police to represent the Rockledge Police Department in many events such as parades, funeral details, and memorial services. The Rockledge Police Department Honor Guard Unit consists of several highly motivated and dedicated officers who are specially trained in the proper execution of military drill. The unit's most recent accomplishment was the completion of the Broward County Honor Guard Academy in South Florida. At the Academy, the Honor Guard Unit was provided additional training in Flag Folding, Funeral Detail Protocols, Presentation of Colors, Military Drill, 21-Gun Salute, Casket Guard and Casket Carry. Since its commission into service, the Honor Guard Unit has participated in many events throughout the state of Florida, including honoring fallen officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while in the line of duty. In the past year, the Honor Guard has represented the department in a number of events, including presentation of the colors at Rockledge Night at Space Coast Stadium as well as at the September 11 Memorial Dedication Ceremony at Rockledge Fire Station 3.
