[ARCHIVED] Street Renaming Ceremony Set for Clarence Row Avenue

A street renaming ceremony will be held on March 20, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. to officially unveil the renaming of Pennsylvania Avenue to Clarence Rowe Avenue in Carboni Park.

The City of Rockledge is pleased to announce that a renaming ceremony in honor of longtime Rockledge resident and community activist Clarence Rowe will be held in March.  On December 2, 2020, the Rockledge City Council unanimously adopted a Resolution renaming the portion of Pennsylvania Boulevard (Avenue) in Carboni Park as Clarence Rowe Avenue in honor of Mr. Clarence Rowe, a pioneer for justice and equality for all residents of Rockledge and Brevard County.  This renaming serves as recognition of the leadership and dedication of Mr. Rowe, who served as president of the Central Brevard Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and received a Key to the City of Rockledge in 2003.

The public is invited to attend and take part in the honoring of Mr. Rowe.   COVID-19 precautions/protocols will be taken, and masks are encouraged.
