Police Chaplains

The Police Chaplains program is a clergy of all faiths who work with law enforcement personnel on a professional level by making themselves immediately available as trained and caring professionals who can assist in times of loss, confusion, depression, or grief to people in crisis situations. The Chaplain Liaison acts as the departmental liaison between the Chaplains and those who may be in need of service.

Services Provided

  • A Chaplain is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Chaplains provide guidance and counseling for department personnel
  • Chaplains are available to officers during a crisis situation
  • Chaplains are able to officiate at funerals, weddings, baptisms, dedication ceremonies and other pastoral functions as requested
  • Chaplains are able to officiate at memorial services and other religious ceremonies
  • Chaplains are available for hospital visitations

Chaplains are available to assist with the RPD Crisis Negotiations Team as requested.
